Captain Paul Watson
Today we are beyond excited to welcome Captain Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd Conservancy. You may already be familiar with him from the hit TV show “Whale Wars”. Sea Shepherd uses direct action to defend marine wildlife and protect their habitat in the world’s oceans.
Sea Shepherd has transformed into an international movement and exists in 40 different countries, all concentrating on different environmental initiatives. Captain Paul Watson believes in an interventionist approach, where they directly shut down the terrible things that are happening in our oceans. Sea Shepherd has successfully driven the Japanese whaling fleet out of the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, shut down the toothfish poachers in the waters around Antarctica, stopped Chevron and BP from drilling in the Australian bite, and so much more. With poachers, illegal fishing, over-fishing, and the diminishment of biodiversity within our ecosystem, they are ultimately fighting against the death of our ocean.
Sea Shepherd wants to remind you that one person can make a real difference. We all have the ability to change the world – all it takes is passion, imagination and courage. The oceans are our lifeline, yet they are dying more and more everyday and desperately need our help. Please contribute in the best way you can to help defend and protect marine wildlife and the world’s oceans.
